I tried downloading Napster. It’s not compatible with my OS. Those jerks. Mac users listen to music too. Oh well, if they don’t want my money, that’s fine with me.

I use LimeWire myself. I always have to restrain myself from writing a "hey, fuck you, too" email to developers who don't have a Mac version of their software.

I actually tried opening Limewire this morning and couldn't connect, so I decided to check out the new Napster. I often have trouble downloading the songs I want. It's constantly having to requery. Do you find that too? I also have trouble finding what I'm looking for. I find that their latin american and classical music selection is very hit and miss. How have you found it?

I actually wrote an e-mail to Limewire asking if the Pro-Version came with a scumware/spyware removal tool, since one of their selling points for upgrading to the Pro-version is that it doesn't have any bundled software. Which is great, unless of course, like me you had already downloaded the free version. I never did get a response. Oh well. I suppose I could write to them again.

Which OS are you running? When my computer was in the shop getting a new video card, I decided to upgrade to Panther. It's pretty fast. Pretty stable too.

I find LimeWire is hit-or-miss depending on what time of day I'm on. I haven't quite ascertained a pattern, but sometimes it's like click-*poof*-done! and sometimes it crawls forever and then shits the bed halfway through the song. I usually download stuff that's pretty mainstream, but yeah -- I'm usually disappointed if I look for anything obscure [although I did come up with a good amount of bhangra, oddly enough].

I had to upgrade to Panther around the holidays, if you remember, when a security update screwed up my whole OS and it was either upgrade or lose eveything. Bastards.

Hehe, why spend all that time and money writing a mac version if only seven people are going to buy the software? >;-)

I think there's a Mac version for Americas Army: Operations though, but then again that's government funded software..

*chuckle*

C'mon try one! You'll love it. Actually, I know a few programmers that are pretty freaked out by macs. Even though macs are superior machines, for the most part, the way the OS is so integrated leaves them feeling a bit helpless. I guess they like to be able to go into a computer and tweak it this way or that. They're not able to do that with a mac and it drives them crazy. Are you that way at all?

*I* sure am.
Is there a napster version that works with linux? If so it could be made to work with OSX (or HP workstations or Sun systems or... well, just about any computer system out there that isn't infected by the Microsoft virus.)

Modular. It's what's beaten into us all through college. Everything must be it's own autonomous unit. An integrated OS is a scary thing.
