I am officially full term. This morning I am having my first cup of ninth month tea.

I don't think the baby is going to be here for a while though. My place is a mess, and I'm feeling like I usually do when the place is a mess - annoyed - and I'm taking care of things at snails pace, so clearly, the nesting instinct hasn't kicked in quite yet.

Ooh, what's nine month tea?

It's a nutritious albeit pretty gross tasting tea that women can drink in their ninth month to help prepare their bodies for labour.

This is the first I've heard of "Ninth Month Tea." Is that a real tea, or is it an expression, like "eating humble pie"?

LOL! That totally cracked me up.

It's an actual tea. It has lots of vile tasting but very nutritious herbs that are supposedly supposed to help prepare a woman's body for labour.

What are your plans for next week? This week I've gone completely around the bend and over scheduled myself up to my eyeballs, but next week is totally open. Maybe you and Tomás would like to come by?

Cool. Pick a day, and I'll stick it in my calendar. I'm guessing you'd like to swing by post-nap time?

Er... any day except for next Thursday. I have my weekly mid-wife appointment that day at 1:00.

Ok, I have a chiro appt on Friday, so how about we do Wed? And yes, I'll be wanting to come after first nap, so I could probably get to your place around noonish, does that work?

How shall we work lunch in there? Is there anything around your place, or should we potluck it?

Can I get your address? Then I'll figure out my bus route. :)

Of course you're on the call list! I consider you a very close friend (even though I wish you lived closer, I lived closer).

Yay! I can't wait to meet the next offspring!!!!!!! I hope you let me smell his/her head!

Sure, you can smell the baby's head. Do babies head smell universally good, or just good their mothers?

Date: 2008-06-09 04:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tracied.livejournal.com
Well they only smell good if they are breastfed....

I would disagree. :) My baby smelled quite good.

As I was saying in my comment to tracied, I still think my kids smell pretty good, and I often find myself giving them a kiss on the top of their heads. Seeing as how they're six and eight, now, I'm thinking it's probably one of those mom/kid things.

My kids still smell really good to me (well...usually...), which leads me to believe that it's not a universal thing, and that kids probably smell better to their mothers than they do to other people.

Whoa, where'd the time go?

I never got the nesting thing with either of mine. I kept waiting for it to arrive and magically clean my house, but apparently my slovenly ways overpowered the instinct.

Wishing you a smooth and joyous birthing when the time comes!

You totally made me chuckle. There are other things I've been proscrasting on, though, like getting a birth kit, and assembling the co-sleeper. Those are non-negotiable, and I must find the motivation to make them happen before this child arrives (esp. the birth kit!)
