Gas prices - more evidence of my absurdity

As ridiculous as it is, I haven’t been able to bring myself to fill my tank these days. I’ll throw in a quarter tank, maybe a half tank at the most, with the idea that later on that day, or the next day, gas prices will come down, and I’ll fill it then. The only thing is that gas prices haven’t come down, and I doubt that they’re coming down anytime soon. Knowing this, I’m always telling myself that, “Next time, I’ll just bite the bullet and fill it.” But I never do. As soon as I get to station, I change my mind. Surely, I can’t be the only one that does strange stuff like this?

no, you're not. i fill up on bio or diesel, and haven't put in a full tank for a few months. i limit myself to $10'ish per week. i still drive the same amount, so really it uses up time rather than saving money, but ... i still do it.

I am guilty of driving a 'BIG' vehicle. I have to fill it out of necessity. Probably wouldn't be very practical to try to haul three children on a bike on the freeway 15 miles into the city. I have 3 children under age 6 and we use every inch of space in our Suburban - it is a very useful portable playpen you know :) $90/week to fill it. Will it ever come down?

Wow, $90/week. Okay, I'll stop complaining now :-). Mine is about $70/week to fill.

I've noticed the prices drop a bit in the past few days, but nothing really substantial. I think high gas prices are here to stay, unfortunately.
