November

It rained yesterday, and there was something about the way that the weather felt that reminded me of Novermber in Alberta, and made me miss Edmonton, of all places.

There is something incredibly peaceful and beautiful about early November in Alberta. The trees are pretty much bare except for the occasional stubborn orange or red leaf clinging on to a branch. The light dusting of snow barely conceals the brown grass underneath. And yet, it’s probably my favorite month - well, in Alberta anyhow. I can’t put my finger on why, really.

Anyone else love November?

I loathe November. It's always been a bad month for me, headspace-wise. OTOH, I will concede that in Edmonton, November is one of the better months climate and geography wise. Nice dry, crisp, clean cold. I do have lots of good memories of walking the rivervalley trails in the setting you describe.
