But I think a lot of it is rooted in how we relate to people with disabilities and people with mental illness. (Going back to discussions of abelism, like blauteufelin brought up.) If we can combat that, then we can also reduce instances of other kinds of abuse. (physical, emotional, and psychological abuse are just as insidious.)
