Insignificant stuff that pisses me off

I managed to steam clean the carpets in the living room today. Quite an accomplishment, since it took me about six tanks just to do a tiny living room. These carpets are disguting! Each time I emptied the steam cleaner, the water was dark brown. The place is eight years old and I'm sure that carpets haven't been steamcleaned once until now. Fuck. I'm so disgusted. And to think I've been walking around on them for three weeks. I'm sooooo glad we wear slippers. I'm not a neat freak. Quite the contrary, anyone that has been to my household can verify that housekeeping is not my forte. But still, what the fuck is up with this? When your no pile, dark purple, brown and grey carpet looks noticeably better after steam cleaning, you know it must have totally filthy to start. Yuck. Anyhow. I'll finish the apartment tomorrow morning, and then head into Montreal with the kids - YAY!
